Overview

“The Automated People Mover (APM) is a 2.25-mile elevated guideway train system and the centerpiece of Los Angeles International Airport’s (LAX) Landside Access Modernization Program (LAMP). The LAMP is designed to revolutionize the traveler experience by providing easy access to the airport and LA Metro’s regional transportation system—improving reliability and mobility, while reducing congestion and emissions.”—Excerpt from LINXS Project Profile PDF at https://www.lalinxs.com/facts.html

“The LAX APM is LAWA’s first public-private partnership (P3) project. LINXS scope includes five stations that will connect the future Consolidated Rent-A-Car facility, two intermodal transportation facilities, expanded airport parking and regional transit to the LAX Central Terminal Area (CTA). The project will transform the experience for travelers at one of America’s busiest and most iconic airports, while bringing jobs and workforce development to the local community.”—Excerpt from LINXS Project Overview at https://www.lalinxs.com/project.html

“The Automated People Mover (APM) system will bring convenience and time-certainty for guests traveling to or from Los Angeles International Airport. During peak hours, driverless trains will arrive at stations every two minutes. The trains will have wide doors for easy access with luggage, large windows for viewing, plenty of hand holds, and seats for those in need. Station platforms are open-air, light-filled and have escalators and elevators for quick, convenient access to the terminals. The APM is the centerpiece of LAX’s Landside Access Modernization Program (LAMP), which also includes a Consolidated Rent-A-Car (ConRAC) facility, Intermodal Transportation Facilities and associated roadway improvements. The APM will reduce vehicle congestion in the Central Terminal Area, provide a connection with L.A. Metro’s regional transportation system, create new locations for passenger pick-up and drop-off, reduce emissions and provide reliable access to the terminals.”—Excerpt from LINXS Building an APM Station PDF at https://www.lalinxs.com/facts.html
